A New Taonga

One of the  things I love to do  is weave a wahakura and yes I do say it often.

It is extra special when it is to celebrate a new addition to our own whānau.

Add the setting where I started this wahakura and I can’t help but smile.

My Mother grew up five minutes down the road.  My Grandmother, Great Grandmother and many other Tupuna are buried in the urupā  in that direction, past the trees in the middle background.

So beautiful.  I can’t stop smiling.
