New Beginnings

Here I am at the start of a new kakahu.  The whenu feel just so beautifully soft after having been through the kormuru  process. They also have a definite wavy look to them.
The two coloured whenu are the whenu tapiri which is wrapped around the first and last whenu and carried down the edge of the kakahu.  It is only attached on the first and last whatu row.

 

I have prepared hundreds of feather bundles.

I thought I had plenty and if I was going to stick to the design I had worked out all would be well.

However my original plan does not feel quite right and I am going to have to rethink it a little.

Back to the drawing board…
